Josh Brown, MD, PhD
From his hometown of Pensacola, Florida, Josh went to the University of West Florida where he earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry. He then earned his MD from the University of Maryland Baltimore while also earning a PhD from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Josh is aiming for a career in academic medicine where he can continue to focus on neuroradiology and advanced MRI sequences.
The fourth-year resident is part of the Research Track in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program and is leveraging a Resident/Fellow Ressearch Grant from the Radiological Society of North America to support his use of an advanced MRI technique called glutamate chemical saturation transfer imaging to improve evaluation of patients with epilepsy. He also has created a novel database for matching medical students and residents with research projects. These opportunities for resident-led innovation and "great support for training physician scientists like myself along with the robust clinical training" are why he loves Emory.
When not at work or studying, Josh loves going to parks and the Beltline with his family.
