Buffy Dekmar, MD
Buffy is a third-year diagnostic radiology resident and Junior Chief Resident. Fascinated by all aspects of radiology, she's especially interested in clinical education.
Emory Radiology's commitment to clinical education is what attracted her, she says, "I was impressed by our department's commitment to well-rounded education, with opportunities such as the program tracks. I also noticed that residents seemed to have balanced lives but also had a certain confidence that they were being well trained."
Buffy's hometown is LaGrange, GA. She earned her undergraduate degree in early childhood education from Columbus State University and then moved to Philadelphia to study medicine and earned her MD from Drexel University College of Medicine.
To maintain her balance, Buffy heads to farmers markets and practices yoga. She also enjoys film photography and playing with her young son Elliot.
