Ricardo Martinez Garcia, MD
Ricardo is a second-year interventional radiology-integrated resident training for a career in academic interventional radiology with a focus on interventional oncology, palliative pain interventions, and liver-directed therapies. He also is pursing the Global Health Track.
"I was looking for a program that would provide me with both great diagnostic and interventional training with a strong clinical presence as well as a wide variety of procedural experiences in all realms of interventional radiology. I always knew Emory had a good reputation for this."
A native of Miramar, Florida who earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Florida, and his MD from the much colder University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, he also says he "wanted to train in a city that was fun, affordable, and went through all four seasons in moderation!"
In his down time, Ricardo enjoys working out, playing and watching sports (college football and basketball), as well as hanging out with his significant other and trying out new restaurants with a focus on international food, of which there's plenty in Atlanta.
