Core Service Director of Ultrasound
As Core Service Director of Ultrasound for Emory Healthcare, Malissa leads ultrasound imaging operations across the system for diagnostic and procedural care. Malissa brings an impressive 26-year background in health care to her role marked by a steadfast focus on clinical operations and business development.
She began her leadership journey at Emory Decatur Hospitals in 2004. She has advanced through various leadership roles, most recently Director of Imaging Services, which she's held since 2020. With 14 years of dedicated service as an operations manager, Malissa has managed multiple imaging departments, including outpatient invasive procedures. She fostered robust relationships with the Emergency Department and Inpatient Nursing units producing many team successes.
Dedicated to clinical excellence. Malissa's extensive clinical experience is informed by her registry as a technologist in both radiographic and breast imaging. In 2004, Malissa graduated with a bachelor of science degree in health arts from the University of St. Francis. She graduated from the Emory Radiology Leadership Academy in 2021. Actively contributing to her field, she is a member of AHRA (American Healthcare Radiology Administrators): The Association for Medical Imaging Management and is pursuing the Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Malissa finds solace outdoors, partaking in activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. She loves coastal relaxation and enjoys deep-sea fishing and tranquil moments on the beach.
