As Core Service Director for Radiographic Imaging, Michael oversees radiographic imaging across the Emory Healthcare enterprise. He brings to this pivotal role a proven record of clinical excellence and a robust foundation in leadership. Trained in radiology during his service with the United States Army as a combat medic and radiology technologist (1999-2005), Michael understands the importance of diagnostic radiology in health care and is committed to clinical and administrative excellence. Throughout his career, he has handled multiple leadership roles overseeing day-to-day operations of diverse imaging facilities while ensuring peak productivity, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. His expertise encompasses hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers and clinics within the expansive Emory Healthcare network.
As co-chair of the department's Diagnostic Imaging Quality and Safety Committee, Michael played a pivotal role in refining radiology protocols, elevating patient experiences, and fostering a culture of excellence. His work led to earning Clinical Educator of the Year titles at Emory University Hospital Midtown in 2018 and 2019, which is a testament to his ability to merge clinical excellence with a passion for educational innovation.
Michael earned a bachelor of science degree in business in 2013 and earned the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in 2014. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he actively volunteers with organizations like HIRE HEROES and lends his expertise as an advisory board member for Maxwell High School's health care program.
