Christina Sumner, DO, Chief Resident
A native of Orlando, Florida, Christina went north to Pennsylvania State University where she earned a BA in psychology and then returned to Florida to earn a BS in interdisciplinary studies with majors in life and biomedical sciences and physical sciences. From there, she went to medical school, specifically Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Graduating with her DO, she matched with Emory for diagnostic radiology residency.
With clinical interests in breast imaging as well as global health, education and leadership, Christina will remain at Emory for a breast imaging fellowship.
She says, "Emory is a fantastic place to train with the breadth of exposure. From a large academic tertiary care center to one of the busiest emergency rooms in the country at Grady, I know my training will prepare me for any job."
Outside of working and studying, Christina enjoys hiking, traveling and playing with her dog, Zelda.
