Umair Syed, MD
Umair grew up in Herndon, Virginia. He stayed in state to earn his undergraduate degree in biology and biochemistry from Virginia Tech and his MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
The fourth-year diagnostic radiology resident is most interested in abdominal imaging and dynamic imaging and plans to work in private practice where he can read across subspecialities but have a focus on abdominal imaging.
Umair chose Emory for residency not only to be with his wife, who is from Atlanta, but also because, he says, "Emory offers unparalleled diversity and complexity of cases with all the sites and services we rotate through."
Outside of work, Umair enjoys hiking, traveling, fitness, board games, and hanging out with his wife and their cat.
