Anel Tankovic, MD
Dr. Tankovic was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and grew up in Lawrenceville, GA. After completing his undergraduate studies at Emory in neuroscience and behavioral biology, he earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia.
He returned to Emory for diagnostic radiology residency, he says, because "I wanted to train at a place that has a reputation of both clinical and research excellence in diagnostic imaging. Big plus that a program like that was available in my own backyard." After completing residency, he will remain at Emory for a neuroradiology fellowship. His clinical interests are brain and spine imaging.
When not at work or studying, he cherishes spending time with his wife, 3-year-old son, and two dogs. He enjoys going to NBA games (go Hawks!), playing video games (he recently built his first gaming PC), checking out Atlanta’s diverse food scene, traveling, hiking, and snowboarding. He also is a big fan of stand-up comedy.
