Josh Volin, MD
Josh is a second-year resident pursuing the Research Track.
Josh grew up in Denver, Colorado, and earned his undergraduate degree in chemical and biological engineering from the University of Colorado - Boulder. The then earned his medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Just months into the first year of residency, he says, "I am still very much figuring out what interests me most in radiology as currently, everything I have been exposed to piques my interest. Outside of the daily clinical practice of medicine, I am interested in the uses of augmented reality in the reading room."
He says he chose Emory "due to the extensive spectrum of training offered and the diverse array of clinical environments we engage with, spanning from the challenging traumas at Grady to the specialized pathologies at Emory University Hospital. In addition to the exceptional training, the city of Atlanta presents an abundance of amenities that enrich the experience of residency, from the vibrant culinary scene and live musical performances to the proximity of invigorating hiking trails, tranquil camping and fly-fishing spots, and nearby picturesque beaches. Atlanta offers an all-encompassing tapestry of enriching possibilities. Overall, when I went looking for a program, I sought one that not only provided exceptional training from amiable, expert faculty but one which was also situated in a splendid locale characterized by sunny, warm weather. Emory gracefully fulfilled all those criteria, and since then, I have had nothing but a good time."
Already at home in his new home, Josh enjoys going for runs on the Beltline, eating all around Atlanta and spending time with family and friends.
